It is also paid for in some ways.

I have never really done the math much on it.

I did have a job years ago, where I tried to put some of the mileage in a savings account to at least pay for the down payment.

Then I bought a house and used that up.

There is a point when you have to start replacing parts (brakes, tires, etc.) where you need to determine the cost of rebuilding a car vs new.

The auto tariff war a few months ago was probably the best time to buy new in quite a while.
