Federal and State laws give drug addicts and mentally ill persons the right to refuse medical treatment. These laws have been upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court under the 14th Amendment’s due process clause, and the principle of bodily autonomy.
And yet, during Covid, millions of HEALTHY people were coerced to take a vaccine, wear (useless) face masks, prohibited from attending church and social gatherings, and other infringements on their liberties.
Do you find these two phenomena to be logical and consistent?
One could argue, “Covid was contagious but mental illness and drug addiction are not.”
That may be so, but the rationale behind the vaccine was to prevent healthy people from becoming infected and spreading the virus (which, as it turned out, wasn’t true; the vaccine may have reduced the symptoms but it didn’t prevent the disease nor prevent transmission).
