In the United States, drunk driving results in over 10,000 fatalities each year. Specifically, in 2023, 12,429 people were killed in crashes involving a drunk driver. This represents about one-third of all traffic fatalities and translates to a death every 42 minutes, according to AutoInsurance.com, and The Zebra.

Not a victimless crime by any sense.
