"POLICE OFFICER SHOT: A brazen attack unfolded at the McAllen International Airport earlier today. At around 6 a.m., a gunman opened fire on a federal building housing Border Patrol operations, injuring Officer Ismael Garcia, a 10-year veteran of the McAllen Police Department.

Thankfully, Garcia is in stable condition at a local hospital.

The suspect, was shot and killed by Border Patrol agents after he engaged in a hail of gunfire. Authorities report that he was armed with multiple weapons, and had additional ammunition and gear. The investigation is ongoing, led by the FBI, and officials are working to determine the motive behind the attack. We're grateful that no other officers or agents were seriously injured.
