The U.S. labor market saw a significant shift in June as the number of American-born workers employed surged by 830,000, reaching the highest level ever recorded, according to the Department of Labor. This increase surpasses the pre-pandemic high set in October 2019.
Conversely, employment among foreign-born workers declined by 348,000, marking the third consecutive month of decreases. The Department of Labor's data indicates that since the start of 2025, foreign-born employment has dropped by over half a million, while American-born employment has increased by more than two million.
