on ideological purity and a singular unwillingness to compromise. The result is it makes it virtually impossible to achieve legislative goals and build broad political support.
In addition, the rhetoric used by progressives are polarizing which further complicates its ability to build coalitions.
To their credit progressives have identified many important issues (such as evil social injustice, misuse of the environment and others) but their common theme and failing is they rely heavily on virtue signaling aspirational goals but continue to fail to develop detailed and workable policy solutions. Due to their ideological purity progressives tend to be tone deaf and act like spoiled children and throw temper tantrums when they do not get their way.
