Intelligent. Maybe it's more correct to say intelligence does not equate to common sense.
We all know of examples of people who are highly intelligent in their niches but barely functional in society. My best example was a physics professor in college. He had a freshly printed PhD from Purdue and was the most brilliant man I have ever met, when it came to physics. The man was incapable of dressing himself or combing his hair and you could not hold a conversation with him about anything other than physics.
