Network Security person has been telling management for months/years about the extra security measures needed

Management sees it as either an extra expense, or an extra annoyance of more authentication/security, or both, and doesn't want to do it

yadda yadda yadda you get hacked, and some underling is going to get blamed while middle-management weasles their way out of responsibility and remains an incompetent liability to the company
