had paid for a study of new voters from other states. Californians get all the attention here because California is California, but that state only ranked third in emigrants to Texas (Illinois was first, Florida second). "Don't Californize My Texas" remains a common slogan down here. But what the study found is that CA transplants are more conservative and vote Republican more so than the rest of the general Texas voting population. In other words, they are more likely conservative refugees than idiot liberals following the money.

I don't know about New Yorkers in Florida, but don't assume anything.
