They, unlike Israel, are signatories to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. We had inspectors on-site in Iran until just a year or two ago.
Trump wanted to renegotiate Obama's agreement with Iran and pulled out of that agreement, ending our on-site inspectors in the process. I was certainly open to that idea at the time.
My guess, however, is that bombing them isn't the most beneficial way of negotiating a better deal & a safer world, assertions to the contrary notwithstanding.
