people want to live there regardless
Manhattan, Lubbock, and College Station are sh*t-holes where nobody wants to live unless you're going to school there.
All 3 of those towns would basically be Sedalia MO if it weren't for the universities located there
In theory I'd lump lawrence into that group too, but I've literally never stepped foot inside lawrence even once to give an opinion on it.
