The other option is to just...sit there. This could be potentially not only an inconvenient situation for the driver (how long will they stand in your way?) but also a dangerous one.
How many people will surround your car? How many people does it take to break your car window and drag you out of it? Probably not all that many. If I get more than about 3 or 4 people banging on my car I guarantee you I will perform an evasive maneuver to remove myself from that situation.
