Trained with both Iranians and Israelis in the 70s

I was drafted and ended up in cyrpto school in NJ where we used PCs before they existed in the public domain to encrypt both hard copy (written) and voice messages. For some reason we were training the Israelis and Iranians too. They had about a 3 month school and ours was 42 weeks
80% of the Army enlisted guys were failing the course so the Army took 10 college grad draftees and put us through to determine whether it was the course or the students. We all passed--10 for 10. So it was the students
Long story short the Israelis were OK to deal with but the Iranians were total jerks. The Shah was running Iran in those days. From my dealings with Iranians they and their country deserve what they get
