It is how you define it and work to implement it. Diversity in and of itself is not a strength. Using outcomes as a measure of diversity is often a very poor measure. However, organizations that see diversity as looking to as wide a pool as possible for solutions, and selecting the very best solutions from that pool, rather than seeing it as a quota outcome measure will do very well. This is where our diversity push has so often fallen short.
