clicks for revenue and to shape public opinion. MSNBC has their target audience that they want glued to the TV with sensationalized coverage slanted towards how they want to shape the viewers. Fox News likewise.

Then there are those like hokie who ridicule those who don’t watch the news as not being informed, blissfully unaware everything he is “informed” on is curated.
