and found that a lot of those accused were really in the service of the KGB. And there are STILL leftists/Democrats who defend the likes of Alger Hiss. We learned that the likes of Dalton Trumbo really was working for the USSR yet Hollywood made a symphathetic movie about him.
Yeah, McCarthy was boorish and sloppy, emotional, and overly aggressive. But he had good instincts and good information and was right most of the time as to who was undermining this country. M. Stanton Evans wrote a great book about this.
