The outcome of the war has not been decided, depending on what you mean by outcome. The "war" in Ukraine is one step in an attempt by Russia to reclaim the SOviet Union. If Ukraine and Europe capitulate, Russia will pause, regroup and strengthen, then try for more. At what point do you try to stop them? Right now Ukraine is fighting the "war" for the rest of Europe. Ukraine does not have to defeat Russia. Just hold out long enough to drain the will of Russian leadership and weaken its economy. Ukraine will have to cede territory in an evantual treaty, as it has not choice and little bargaining power. After Russia strengthens, it will go for more. At some point more of Europe will get involved to stop them, and eventually Russia's economy will crater as it did when the Soviet Union fell apart. That is the likely outcome, though I wouldn't say it is completely predetermined yet.
