diversity is.
if I have the same product design team working together for several years there is a good chance they will have stagnated. Adding some diversity to that team would probably have positive results. But I'm talking about diversity of thought, background and approach. That will likely move the team in new directions.
Just adding a black dude or a lesbian does nothing productive for the team unless they have other skills of value to the team.
From the progressive handbook five white guys with different backgrounds, training and approaches is a non diverse group.
But a group of a Latino, a black woman, a lesbian, a white woman and gay guy who all think alike, have the same training and approach would be a perfect example of diversity in action.
