The economy doesn't exist in a vacuum. Before tractors, farmers accounted for over 50% of this country's employment. Now they account for about 2%. We don't have 48% unemployed farmers. There are countless other examples of technology leading to productivity improvements that have freed up resources to pursue other opportunities.
