He doesn't want to know... his emotional control center has burned to the ground. He is now unhinged and overly distraught and obsessed with Trump.
Mentally he doesn't have the ability to comprehend the reality around him, instead he has a ever dying need to warp the narrative to fit his broken leftist ideology. Sadly their are several millions like him who now have no societal constraints to hold in check their bent emotional passions and desires for the world to be made over into what they desire.
