I passed this onto my brother-in-law, who went an entire year doing "talk like a pirate" day with another dispatcher at Overland Park PD. They would put the calls out straight but would say stuff under their breath. A subject at a disturbance displaying a knife was suddenly brandishing a cutlass. A theft report would be dispatched and at the end of the call "it was doubloons".
Pretty much everyone else in dispatch wanted to wring their necks.
My brother-in-law did send an officer on a call his very last day "See the man, on the corner...." from Adam-12.
