I want to make clear I’m not advocating or have an opinion either way on this thread.

If a transgender or gay person is an excellent and remarkable service member, should they be allowed to serve in the military?

Or

Should they be banned based on their gender identity or sexual orientation

Does banning them from service go against a merit based system?
