...in the mob genre. Love your list but disagree on the Godfathers (even Part III has its moments).

So many others, too...Once Upon a Time in America, American Gangster, Mean Streets, Scarface, The French Connection. Even some that just dabble in organized crime of some sort...Raging Bull, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction.
