The US used to supply almost all of China's soybean imports and the same for corn. Trump ruined these markets for American farmers during his first term. The business did not return during the biden regime. Carter was the last President that seemed to understand the need to keep our export markets viable, but then he initiated the Russian grain embargo and stabbed us in the back too. As for Brazil. The Japanese financed and promoted the conversion of Amazon rain forests into crop land as a means to compete with and undercut exports of American soybeans.
