number of things that we could speculate about what sort of state secrets might be involved, but none of us actually knows, since they were sealed from public view.
I prefer that not be the case, but it is possible that it is protecting the witness. Or, perhaps the means they used to ascertain that he was in MS-13, or how the highway patrol knew to pull him over, or perhaps that they were plotting some sort of terror attack... or were involved with people/groups that might be & don't want that info to go public (yet?).
Bottom line is that it is obviously less than ideal, but the rest is pure speculation.
