What are you considereint the need for income?

I like the bucket idea for sure, but I am not sure you need even 5 years safe, assuming you have a good base beyond that.

I will have a nice $100K in HSA money like, probably more, which will give a great runway for healthcare. Of course a lot of it depends on where Medicare goes.

I have two years left on mortgage, and then I will have a ton of extra money to invest in last 8 years or so of work to build extra nest egg.

I do not see that I will need the same income after retirement I have now.
