The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Motown, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, the British invasion bands, Jimi Hendrix, Beach Boys, Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Mamas & the Papas, Jackie Wilson CCR, Simon & Garfunkel, Grateful Dead, the girl groups of the early 60's, Janis Joplin, CS&N, Righteous Brothers, Otis Redding, Byrds, Johnny Cash, Santana, Young Rascals, Sly & the Family Stone, James Brown. Then there was Woodstock.

I could go on and on.

A lot of the "old timers" such as Frank Sinatra were still going strong in the 60's as well.
