They'd rather be "right" in their predictions of the apocalypse than to give trump credit for saving the country (not an exaggeration, imo).

Sometimes it's better to be wrong.

If you predicted you team would lose and they have a great chance to win, would you root for them to fumble and blow the game so you could be "right"?

If you think your kid's cancer is fatal, how badly do you want to be "right"?
