'flu' season was much harsher then normal.
I was coaching HS BB at the time and we had two coaches on our staff and several opponents get very rough cases that season. There were a lot of games coached by assistants that year. It was knocking people out for at least two weeks at a time and coaches don't lightly miss in season. We also had most of the team miss time with it.
Could it have been Covid before we even knew of it's existance? Maybe it was just a coincidence, Maybe it wasn't.
