science cannot magically transform a person into a sex they are not. Medical science also cannot cure the dysmorphia. The prevailing argument is that they do better off with the current treatments than leaving it untreated. And that people should be sympathetic to their condition.
But somewhere along the way, it became politicized because it is a useful tool for each party to latch on to.
Progressives love bunching people up into these separate identity groups because they can pretend to champion for their rights, while maintaining their power and control. Then left thinking people defend their champions and forget about their champions being a political class that exercises control over them.
Conservatives respond likewise. These groups created by progressives can be demonized as threats to their way of life. Right thinking people then defend their champions of the political class.
The people are distracted and convinced into supporting a political class who grifts off everyone.
