He micromanaged and, apparently, was not particularly well-liked among the mid to lower level AD employees. Understand he would check every office at exactly 8:00 am to make sure everyone was at work on time. Nothing really wrong with that but this was not some factory job where you have to “punch in and out.”
That said, he is certainly deserving. He hired Pinkel and improved the football program for certain.
