A lot of times he wasn't and he knows it especially short routes that are specifically drawn up to go to someone else. You do remember Heupel's offense? A lot of times that lone outside receiver never even ran a route. I really think that this has more to do with his family issues (girlfriend is his mgr) cannot have that in the business world and I really do not think that he is an eager practice player. All of that crap matters to Business people.
