it's already a separate entity from the NCAA. It's owned by the FBS conferences and Notre Dame.

The NCAA does own the NCAA tournament and gets most of it's money from that.

So, since the conferences own the CFP, how can the NCAA rig it?

You don't know what you are talking about here.

You should notice the NCAA is not mentioned once in the article.
