I probably exaggerated a bit to make my point. I do think it is a factor though and could continue. For example the Pac 12 doesn't exist anymore. A number of those teams will now be "Big 10" berths. Big 12 was definitely weakened by OU and UT leaving and becoming instant potential tournament teams for another conference.
