government functions.

Find a church that does not have some form of community outreach. If I give $100 to my church to feed the poor I know that $100 will be spent on feeding the poor because the people running program are volunteering.

If the government taxes me $100 to feed the poor I fully expect at least $80 to go to overhead.

Jesus preached individual good deeds not cohercing others to participate.
