A trade deficit is not the same as a budget deficit. We do not have to sell treasury notes to make up for the trade deficit. Just simply wrong. If a US business buys something from a foreign business, and pays for it, there is nothing left to be paid. THere is no debt left. Trade deficits are just the difference in imports and exports, not a debt that the US government has to pay.
