The commitment comes after the Tigers held a Zoom call with Mack last week. The Chicago native was the No. 66-ranked recruit in the Class of 2023, committing to the Bruins. He became an immediate starter for head coach Mick Cronin, averaging 12.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals as a rookie.
Mack moved to a bench role this season and while his counting stats dropped, posting 9.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals per game, his efficiency improved. His shooting splits rose across the board, making 47.3% of his 2-pointers, 31.4% of his 3s and 74.3% of his free throws. Last season, he ranked 83rd among eligible D1 players taking 56.8 free throws for every 100 field goal attempts — while he didn't play enough to qualify for the national rankings this year, his free throw rate climbed to 57.4%, drawing 5.8 fouls per 40 minutes.
