I learned of the event from a work associate from several years back. Worked alongside her at a web marketing firm. We had never talked politics. And I did not find her due to the substantial crowd. - - - There was a meeting at the church at 10 to lay ground rules I guess. It was filled to capacity by the time I got there. I hung out near some folks from the Quakers. They had some drums working the entire event. At 11:30 Gal said the event wouldn't start until noon and the place was already packed, the park just over-flowing with bodies, up and down some burly union guys for a bit. I complimented one's union jacket. Later one of them said he had noticed the Phil Lesh and Jerry Garcia button on my worn fedora. USPS workers showed up with some union chants. Quaker folks had some drums going the whole day. I see that there was an effort, feeble as it was out in OP. The one at the Plaza was the big local site. Talk of it perhaps being every month. Can't wait. "Tell me what Democracy looks like - THIS is what Democracy looks like." It kicked ass. There were no conspiracies.
