Trump announced the tariffs.

I have a tariff report on my screen from a much larger financial firm than Fisher. It’s an internal document. They expected a “targeted and gradual approach that also avoids derailing the domestic economy”. “A more aggressive and universal tariff approach is possible and would materially raise our inflation expectation and lower our economic growth forecast.”

No one seems to have thought Trump was stupid enough to do this.
