anything to do with the DH. All the double switch did was take one of your top eight players out of the game and replace him with a lesser player. Was never a fan.
The other things you listed are because baseball has decided that the long ball is the only offensive play that actually matters.
If you are a fan of small ball, I am with you, I get tired of every player on the team striking out multiple times a game because they are all swinging for the fences. Steal a base, bunt him into scoring position and then drive him home with a sac fly. That is enjoyable baseball to me. Eventually, the pendulum will swing back to that type of game, I hope.
