The GOP lost the House pretty much until 1994 because of Smoot-Hawley.

Trump thinks Smoot-Hawley was good, just implemented too late.

But history doesn’t matter.

Nor does it matter that Trump had to give $23 billion to farmers when his tariffs failed the first time.
