As stated in another reply, in the long run it depends on how long you live. SInce the benefit is increased to make up for the "missed" payments between normal retirement age and 70, it is basically a wash. Some who delay will end up receiving more, some will end up receiving less, but on the whole the system roughly comes out the same.
