The purpose they were created for no longer exists. At one time rural America had very limited access to news, information and entertainment. With satellite TV, radio and internet people working at the South Pole now have the same access as you and I.

When you factor in that their news divisions are nothing but propaganda arms of the Dem party there is no reason for taxpayers to continue funding them.
