nano- and microplastics?

They have received a lot of attention recently with studies revealing the potential health risks.

They warn about drinking bottled water, since the containers are made of flimsy Type-1 (PET) plastic which sheds polymers at a much higher rate. So ironically the "purified" water is actually quite contaminated.

One study found a "spoonful" worth of microplastics in human brains, with higher levels in dementia patients (so phrejd, you might want to switch to tap water).
