Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti indicated the U.S. should support the Ukraine, like they did Afghanistan. This is fallout from the Clinton regime's war on Yugoslavia. IIRC, Clinton supported regime change and self determination for Kosovo. I'm not sure how, but this must be different from Putin's support for regime change and self determination for the people of Ukraine.
