but you should be upset about that money as well, b/c it's COVID money, which means it isn't just from the state. It's money given to the state from fed sources, I believe.

Is your athletic dept completely separated from the school, financially? If not, then i'm sure some tax dollars slip in there. By professional sports, I mean it's not like it used to be where most of our players were recruited b/c they believed in the coach or the school or whatever, and KU/Kentucky/OU/Tx types played by a different set of rules. Now you have SEC money to flat out buy players. It's not the same fan experience. Listen around the stands...people have expectations of those players now beyond when they were just "students". There is no more academic ineligibility now, suddenly either. I think there are some chemistry problems in these locker rooms now b/c the transitory nature of the sports, and also b/c dudes know what other dudes are making...
