Because you may be the most dense person on the planet. Refraining from
stupidly crying for a coach to be fired after every season (hell every loss) is not the same as “koolaid drinking” or “ rainbows and puppy dogs” or whatever ignorant saying you want to throw around.
If Gates has another 23-24 type season next year he’ll be fired. If he misses the tournament he might be. Another first round loss, while not ideal, likely won’t get him fired from a school that in 80 years of the NCAA Tournament has never made a final four.
So again I ask; what is the point of gnashing your teeth on a fan board about something you know ain’t gonna happen, when instead you could hope the current coach does a good job of recruiting and retaining, all the while improving and refining his bench coaching and overall philosophy.
Notice nowhere in this or any other post did o say Dennis Gates is the most awesome coach who ever lived, nor did I say I’m unimaginably happy about the Drake game.
You see, on planet Earth, everything isn’t black and white.
