How embarrassing for those making the coaching decision

at Mizzou to see a DII coach with DII players, both in their first year at the DI level schooling an experienced DI coach with DI players and thousands, if not millions of $ in NIL money.

Coach Mac was available and had an impeccable record when Coach Gates was hired. Maybe CM didn't want to come to Mizzou or maybe we didn't consider him because of the Kim Anderson failure. If it was the latter, shame on us because KA was setup to fail. Plus, at the time, transferring was not easy and NIL money didn't exist.

Anyone who knows anything about basketball can see how CM's teams perform and execute their game plans. Fundamentals, Defense, Rebounding, it's all there. Plenty of video existed to see CM's teams and their results when we were considering coaches. If DEI was part of the equation, shame on us. I like CG but at the end of the day, if it's pure basketball IQ that we want leading our MBB team, CM wins that debate as evidenced last night. Their 31-3 record confirms it wasn't a fluke.

It's sad to see in my lifetime as a Tiger fan, post Norm, we lose out on Bill Self and Ben McCullum.
