MS state has been to a Final 4 in my lifetime and has a good lead on Mizzou in the series. I’d want the Mizzou job but it has slowly declined since Norm in status. Mizzou leaders seem to have become fixated on hiring a black coach to appeal to StL black kids that still don’t go to Mizzou, instead of hiring the best coach they could get. Also, Snyder was a disaster hire. Everybody thought he was going to do what Norm couldn’t do (get elite StL talent and make deep tourney runs and what they got was cocaine, womanizing and Kalen Grimes and an overrated McKinnney. Then they hire Suitcase, Haith for relatively short periods, get nostalgic and hire KA who has no pull for high end talent nor the coaching chops of a McCollum. Then go back to let’s get a black dude that might get good black dudes to play for him. I got nothing against black dudes coaching but it’s been pretty obvious that Mizzou’s leadership has not been particularly deep thinkers on hiring coaches.
