just 1 year ago, really puts into perspective how pathetic it was for Mizzou to retain — for over 3 decades — a coach who was incapable of getting there.

There's a reason that schools like NC State have Final Fours and National Titles, while Mizzou has ZERO.

Just consider last season...

• Gates at MU: 0-19

• Keatts at NCST: ACC championship & Final Four

And yet, Keatts is out of a job while Gates has one of the best contracts in all of college basketball.

It's why Mizzou is THE best job in the country – high pay with super low expectations.

Imagine if Gates had a season like Keatts and won the SEC championship and took Mizzou to its first-ever Final Four – he'd have a lifetime contract and 20-foot statue outside of Mizzou Arena. Hell, we gave him $25M after a 2nd round loss to Princeton.
